          Kim Sunoo thought the worst part of breaking his foot would be the cast. Or the crutches. Or maybe the endless hours of doing nothing in a quiet hospital room.
          
          But that changed the night he saw her.
          
          She was standing at the vending machine, a pink sling around her arm, her back turned toward him. She didn't hear him speak-but when she turned around, her eyes were gentle, and her smile lingered longer than expected.
          
          They couldn't talk the way most people do. But somehow, that didn't stop them.
          
          Midnight walks in the hallway, simple signs exchanged by the vending machine, quiet mornings in the garden-they found each other in little moments. And suddenly, the hospital didn't feel so lonely anymore.
          
          It began with a stumble. But what came after felt a lot like falling. Just... in a much better way.
