"oh, it's quite the pleasure to run into you, kirigiri-san," the gambler couldn't help but smile, her fingers intertwined as her hands formed a line beneath her chin. she seemed content. "tell me, how have you been faring? it has been some time since we've been able to speak just one-on-one."

kirigiri was silent for a moment, looking out the window at the city streets next to them. when the waitress came back with their tea, she offered her a smile as ‘thanks’ before taking a sip. after sitting the delicate tea cup back down on the saucer, she spoke to celeste, “how has life been since we last met, aside from your gambling career?”

"hm? oh, right, i would like royal milk tea." she offered the lady a smile, her hands folded in her lap as she returned her focus to the detective sat across from her. the waitress went on to ask if that was all, or if they would like to order more. pesky bug. "that will be all, thank you," celestia responded, her eyes the only thing giving any attention toward her. seeing her leave, the mildly irritated gambler let out a short breath similar to that of a sigh yet not at all the same.

kirigiri followed her lead and sat at the seat opposite of celeste. she took the moment of calm to examine the shop. string-of-pearls hung just below the lights, vines of some unknown plant crept up the side of the walls, and lavender as the centrepiece for their table. her mouth opened to speak to her partner, but was cut off by the approaching waitress asking what they would like to have. “i`ll just have a cup of macha green tea.”
