i know people get pissed when you get really into a story only to find out it hasnt been updated in months, but for me personally, i would much rather wait until im inspired and feel happy to write a chapter im proud of and invested in over half-assing some shitty filler chapter. if im pumped and inspired to write, i can plan, write and edit a chapter in like an hour, but if im just not feeling that particular story at the time, it can take me WEEKS to get a single chapter done and most of the time i end up hating it and rewriting it later anyways.

also honestly life sometimes just gets in the way. i wish i could just write all day but unfortunately i have to live and work and somehow fit a social life in somewhere. so im sorry to everyone who asks "when are you updating", because most of the time my answer is "hopefully soon" or "i honestly have no idea."
