I really miss the Wattpad of those days when authors were concerned with just new updates and their stories and not with the monetizing of their works :)
I came across an author's profile today who said she was "terrified" with how people were blatantly stealing works from Wattpad and uploading it in their own names on apps like Kindle. Okay? Understandable.
Now, comes the best part. When her readers started suggesting her alternative free platforms, she was like "Inkitt? I don't like the UI, it's slow" "Good novel? Oh, it binds by contract and I don't want to be bound"
Basically what she meant was "I only want to be there on Scroll stack"
Meanwhile the cost of her still ongoing books on Scroll stack is ₹400+ each and they are still ongoing so imagine they are going to be so much more expensive than hard copies of books by well acclaimed authors XD
And it's too funny to me for some reason, lol

That’s completely a change, but just think- almost all of the authors are students, and practically if we’re spending too much time with phone, so our parents do ask what are you doing, like, my parents have asked me to completely stop writing or else they’ll snatch my gadgets, and that’s what their mentality is! But if we’re showing some outcome from it, so our parents can still understand! (Thou, my parents will scold me more if they get to know that I’m tryin to make a living by myself, because they just want me to study)
