@inlecebra               flames flickered to life within the encased, handcrafted lamp, burning vividly atop a bamboo stick. tempted to draw closer, to study the intriguing expressions lacing her visage, jiàn             wrestled with inner turmoil. humans truly were fascinating creatures, and he found it hard not to be amused by their fumblings. shifting forward on his feet to navigate the narrow passage of the tunnel, he turned halfway to face her.       “why explore the unknown when you nearly tremble with jittery limbs?” the emperor marred, a corner of his mouth twitching in a barely-there smile. “desperate to get home? or away from me?” jiàn added with unspoken..       bitterness, was it? or mild irritation?

@hyrded ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎*feathered touch of his against the very source of life beneath his thumb caused her heartbeat to turn erratic and a staccato of pulses thrummed. its force was enough to consume her, each nerve ending lighting with electrifying want. this game of theirs had come a long way, as they themselves had, and what laid at stake became even dire than before but not as dire as their need. greedy she had turned, as her hands curled into the fabric encasing him to bring herself closer, but she didn't immediately kiss him. no, a breath passed or perhaps longer, and she savoured the unbridled anticipation and want in his eyes before giving into his wish.* ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎'ask'  ─  how very considerate of you. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎*raillery laced her words but it didn't make her exempt from the delirium when she met his lips with hers, using her grasp to pull him closer. their mouths pressed hard at first, keeping them there and simply sharing each other's breaths before alaina moved to skim the seam of his mouth with hers, the softness making her eyes fall closed in the weight of the moment.*

@inlecebra                her pulse beneath his palm pressed against her skin, a mere ignited beat that thrummed with life, coaxing his thumb to move in reprieve of wanton desire. the soft tether of his thumb grazing her skin felt the rush of her pulse, and he stilled, forcing himself to hold back. the weight of anticipation for intimacy lingered heavily in the air, his gaze darkening as it remained fixed on her visage. alaina’s murmur,                a throaty sound, breathless and laden with need, wove itself into a question. rurik closed his eyes for a moment, savoring the surging heat between them.       “to taste you and the roses,”        he replied, his voice sober, lids opening as his gaze returned. “i asked for a kiss.” he tilted her neck back, angling her face as he drew closer, their noses brushing lightly. the teasing clash of his lips—-barely touching hers—-           was sweet torture, a palpable sensation that drowned everything around them, turning the moment into a lush, ambient credence. she was so beautiful, an ethereal princess with eyes that could freeze every living and dead thing, trapping            them in an eternal moment.

@hyrded ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎*the feeling of softness raining down on her was experienced before she saw what happened, shrinking her eyes to a close involuntarily. they opened with childlike curiosity and alaina rose one of her hands to skim over her hair with lightness, catching a petal and bringing it in front of her to see. the velvet-like smoothness caressed by her thumb tickled and a smile broke out on her face, having not expected something so fickle from a man such as rurik. it was nearly adorable in its innocence, the act a stark contrast to the thread of intensity that so often weaved them closer to one another. the transparency, however, of the location where they stood had the hesitation in her taking a quick glance to see if they were noticed, killing two birds with a stone as it also offered a reprieve from his abyssal eyes.*
            
             ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎*she should've known her strategy wouldn't last long when his fingers enveloped her neck, bringing her closer and her palms landed open on his chest to balance herself, tilting upwards to meet his dangerous gaze. no matter how many times their eyes locked, it singed with a burn that left its indelible imprint deep within, an instant beat of her heart galloping in something far more ephemeral than could be described in words alone. her lips parted with a stuttered inhale, awaiting him to close the gap as he always did, without the need to ask and spare her the weight of making a choice. foreign words whispered in the iota of distance between their lips settled in her stomach with a flutter, lacking their true meaning but there was a hunch on what he must've said. alaina leant up to bump her nose rurik's faintly, a leap unlike her to do so, as the inescapable scent of roses blanketed them in an air of intimacy.* ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎what did you do that for?
