@inlovewithmoonpie_3 a lot of the time I take a part of me and put it in the oc (such as fangirling, sexuality and their general likes) but I also use other characters as inspiration for ocs if I love the character enough. The other thing I do is I look at the show or movie I’m inserting the oc in and I see what the show could use like if it’s really depressing I make sunshine characters and if there’s no bad people I made a character that’s questionable and if there’s no character with mental illness I’ll make a depressed character, etc
