I'm drawn to writing about broken people falling in love despite the weight of trauma, violence, grief, and the uglier sides of humanity. The love story may be prominent, but they're not romances. Expect morally gray characters, uncomfortable truths, and themes that lean heavy rather than light and fluffy.
