Hello fellow wattpadders,

What brings me here is that as a 21-year old, I get frustrated at the lack of romance fiction suitable for my age. Most published romance novels out there seem to be all teenage high-school first love stuff, or aimed at adults 30+.

On the contrary, my current story (My Way Back Home) seems to draw themes from both genres, with Avie being confronted by her first love/heart break, and having an almost thirty year old spinster best friend. Huh :p.

I'm not too keen on unbelievable story lines that could never happen in real life. When I was a teen, I absolutely loved Sarah Dessen. She created characters who were believable, who had journeys of self discovery. She didn't have to rely on cheesy tacky story lines to keep the reader interested.

I haven't done any creative writing really in about 5 years. I wanted to be a writer when I was younger, instead I studied science at university lol. I'm struggling to re-learn how to write in a way that isn't all neutral, cold and scientific, so any tips would be more than welcome.

Looking forward to sharing stories :)
