          blue like your veins. 
          
          i met you where the leaves fell yellow;
          yellow like your phone case, 
          yellow like the sun on your skin,
          yellow like the splotches of pollen on your converse. 
          
          i met you where the sun fell orange in the sky;
          orange like the patches on your backpack,
          orange like your sweatshirt of syracuse,
          orange like the fingerprint bruises on your wrist.
