            like i said .. once i know that i have him under control and that i’m fully capable of cutting him off when needed .. then he’ll be able to speak with her again . but , i .. can’t promise that will be anytime soon .

her and saint’s last interaction didn’t exactly end well. and i think she’s worried that’s going to be the last time she’ll ever speak to him.

            you act like i can see you whenever i want to , but no . . i can’t . i have to hear kara tell me no .. every .. single .. day . have you ever thought about how that makes / me / feel ? no , you haven’t . why are you constantly making me the bad guy when we are in the same situation , winter ?

i’m tired of being told the same false promises every time you show up. i see you for a few days and then you disappear for months. but during those days together you promise you aren’t going anywhere. you promise you’re here to stay. but it’s just lies.

            “ if you did not make it , i would have no purpose .. i would just disappear , winter . ” he said truthfully . saint only was in control because he fought for it in order to be with winter , without her , he had no purpose in life . “ this is your decision , it truly is . ” he said softly , watching her as he waited for her response .

there was no way winter was going to do anything that would leave aspen without her mother. the little girl didn’t deserve that. but there was also the worry of: “i don’t know how stable everything would be if her and i separated. i don’t know if it would be a smooth split or if…if it would have a risk of one of us not making it…” was it a risk she was willing to take? she knew that if anything happened to her, saint would most likely blame kara, and she definitely didn’t need that on her plate.

            saint understood what she was saying despite not truly caring about kara . he knew morally it would be the incorrect thing to do , but he would do anything for winter .. even if that meant getting rid of alexei so that he could be with her permanently . “ mhm , i know she has a daughter .. wouldn’t want to ruin that child’s life . ” he mumbled , “ what are the risks of separating you two .. ? how can i be done ? ”

            he set the wine glass down on the counter , “ i love winter . i would burn the entire earth for her , she is my world . ” he said in all honesty , “ from the moment i saw her .. i can’t lose her . ”

“winter doesn’t know that, saint. all she knows is you keep disappearing and she has no clue why,” she ran a hand over her face, leaning back in her chair, resting her head against the back of it. “and she’s heard you say that before. that you ‘won’t be leaving anytime soon’.”

            “ i did not purposely leave her , you both know that . when alexei gets .. better , i suppose .. then i cannot come back , i don’t have a choice in the matter . but , when he’s not ~ i’m here . it’s complex , but — i’m not leaving anytime soon .. ” he explained from outside , yet he re-entered once he heard her give a speech about smoking , “ and fine .. i won’t . ”

“considering i have a kid now, yeah, an invitation is needed. and my issue with you is that you keep hurting winter. and you aren’t exactly the best person either, so that’s an added bonus.”
