rant:
          
          i dont have a problem with new fans honestly, the more the merrier, but to call yourself a fan, you gotta know the band/tv show/movie/singer well. don't just listen/watch one of their songs/movies and call yourself a fan. i'm probably too overprotective of the fandom sometimes, especially if there are many fake fans spotted. 
          
          eg.
          
          me: hey do you like the beatles?
          
          person: they are a great band, i'm a huge fan !!
          
          me: omg really? whats your fave song from rubber soul?
          
          person: um whats that?
          
          me: um obviously a beatles album?
          
          person: oh i don't listen to the beatles.
          
          me: (mentally facepalms)
