I've decided to be a working-class hero and will probably have to wait until I retire before I can spend all my time freely lolling over the written (and unwritten) word - I don't want to turn my passion into a full-time job anyway. The art and fact of creative writing takes me when it wants and I am a slave to it, a wanton for its attention but I'm not big on passion for the publishing world and all its vain-glorious divahood. I've had a lot of poetry published in the last twenty years, in literary magazines - the paper kind. My focus is most definitely on the writing. I love work-shopping, and deadlines, and being forced to write in particular ways, against the grain.
