Started working on a story called "Narcissus". It's only a plot and some paragraphs so far.

In a country shrouded by war, the government must take desperate action in a secret technology that can be used as a weapon of war. A girl happens to stumble upon this weapon: Human Cloning.

That's the part of the plot I've thought about so far. Here's a bit of the first chapter draft as a teaser:
          ***
"I won't let you die today, Marden!" I yell as I grab my scruffy, half dead cat. Normally I would think, 'half *alive*', but my usual humor was killed by sounds of destruction and terror arousing me. I race out of the open door whilst swiftly swatting out the fire spreading along Marden's tail. Glass and other rubble rains down on us, as an explosion obliterating the house we just exited follows at our heels. I run and run and run down the grimy alleyways in this town, and I don't stop running until I am more than sure we are out of range of any dust and propelled rubble. I pause and throw down Marden – rather roughly – onto the pavement. My chest heaves and I almost follow him down but I force myself to remain upright and not lose my momentum. I let my heartbeat slow just enough for me to catch my breath, but I bounce from foot to foot to keep it up. My dear late grandfather's mother-of-pearl timepiece jounces slightly in my shirt pocket until I pull it out to check the time. I must be late, otherwise an explosion would not have almost killed us.

To answer your question about whether or not the human side of Chaos died in the Devil's Soupbowl, she ended up being rescued before that happened. I'll be re-reading that chapter this weekend while I work to polish book one in case I didn't make that clear enough.

I feel like a broken record, but thanks for pointing this out to me too. You have a keen eye for detail and I really appreciate you taking the time to ask questions. Your help couldn't come at a more perfect time!!!

@ishperson I never thought you were being too critical. I tend to use a lot of misdirection as I write. Only I'm not quite sure the technique always worked on you :) If I were a magician, you had a way of spotting my tricks a mile away. The plot holes you pointed out seriously needed to be addressed. I'm just glad you found them before I published the book. I hope you'll do the same for book two. Lord knows I need your expert eyes!!!!

@Somerlea Thank you for answering my question and for your compliment! I feel like I was being too critical with my questions. Good luck! No matter what happens, Angel of Fire is an AWESOME series.
