@ithecosmicriver Hi River!
I've been reading The One Way Home and wanted to say how much I'm enjoying it. I really like the way Alice's story unfolds, with each post adding new details.
It also feels to me as though there are some strong literary influences behind the writing. The descriptions are particularly well done and do a great job of building tension and atmosphere without slowing the story down.
One thing I especially noticed is your use of rhetorical devices such as anaphora. Like the repeated "I waited, I waited..." passage, which works beautifully. It creates a sense of anticipation and anxiety, while also giving the prose a very musical rhythm.
I'm writing a novel in English myself (British English, specifically), and since I'm not a native speaker, I'm always looking for honest feedback. If you happen to have a few minutes to look at part of my first chapter, I'd be really grateful to hear what you think. Even a brief impression would help.
I'm not looking for follows, votes, or any kind of exchange—I'd simply appreciate an honest opinion on how the English reads and whether anything sounds unnatural to a native speaker.
Thanks, and best of luck with your writing!
