It’s my birthday!! Well, not technically. It’s really on August 30th, but considering I’ll be out of town on those days and unable to write, I decree today as my honorary celebration of life.
But I believe that a part of birthday isn’t just receiving gifts but giving my own: and so, I come with a snippet of next chapter (which IS being finalized at this moment and should hopefully release soon). Also: thanks for 9K reads on Bewitched!! That’s amazing!! To think I just started writing it as a silly little fic with no plans on making it this far! Anyways, enough yap. Happy reading:
‘Being a young teenage prodigy in the Emperor’s Coven holds a multitude of perks: respect amongst the people, fear from all who oppose justice, power beyond measure—‘
‘And paperwork. Lots and lots of paperwork. Frankly, I found it surprising Belos didn’t have anyone to take care of this stuff for him. Alas, that left me in charge of all of the reports coming in and out of the castle, particularly because I hadn’t been assigned to any missions.’
‘With a groan, I slump against my desk, my head roughly hitting the wooden surface and causing the stack of papers on top to fly off in every direction of my room. Great, another mess to sort.’
‘I defeatedly sigh, raising my head up and running a gloved hand through my hair. I crane my head to the side as I hear a familiar chirp from my bed, fixating my focus on a red cardinal bird nestled within my cloak.’
‘Flapjack’s big, beady eyes stare into mine. He tilts his head in a way that makes it look like he’s taunting me. I scrunch my nose in distaste, sticking my tongue out at the bird, although there’s no real bite to my actions.’
‘“At least I can write. You don’t even have hands.” I pettily murmur, trying to make myself feel better about my grueling task.’
