I am an open-minded Christian so I am not against it at all. However, I am against extremism, as I have experienced it and it has greatly damaged my faith.
Some Christians, such as Genesis' parents, do have a problem with media. SOG was based on some friends I knew well, and they wouldn't allow anything secular into their house. Sadly, they would probably not allow The Hunger Games, either. :-(

Perhaps, but as I said, they are closely based on real people that I have encountered. My own parents, while not extreme Christians themselves, were very overprotective. I wasn't allowed to go anywhere or do anything without them. So even if it seems exaggerated, this doesn't mean that people like that don't exist. Check out the Westboro Baptist people, for example. At first I thought they had to be a joke!
