                           ━ the desert. a mysterious,
                                desolate place. the dunes
                                bump up on the surface
                                like dainty lily pads
                                floating on dark ripples.
                                or like fluffy clouds
                                drifting across a bleak
                                sky. the desert is truly
                                a beautiful location.
                                olive-green cacti speckle
                                the pale sand like freckles
                                upon a pretty face. the area
                                is dusted ever-so-slightly
                                with a tan layer of fine sand.
                                ivory particles swish around,
                                even after being blown around
                                by the smallest of breezes.
                                the barren atmosphere makes
                                the tranquil desert what it
                                really is.
