Guys, my friend just texted me saying that he wanted to kill himself, and i have no idea ehat to do. I've talked a bit with him and i think he's like seriously gonna donit this week or next week and I don't eanna tell someone about it cuz well i feel like I'm kinda ish betraying him a little but also i feel like if i don't tell someone, he's gonna actually do it and then it would be my fault cuz I'm the only one who knows but yeah, could someone please give me some advice?

@jUsT-aN-iNcHiDeNt-- Kind of a late reply but this is such a stressful situation and I’m so sorry. I’m also not a trained professional but if you want to talk to one you can call or text 988 (or an equivalent crisis line if you live somewhere other than North America - it should come up with a quick google search) and they can help you figure out what to do for your friend. It’s important to validate their feelings and/or ask if they want to talk about it (but not if you can’t handle it - your mental health comes first!). Make sure he knows you care. I also think telling a trusted adult or professional (I assume ur a minor?) is more important than their betrayal - the fact that they told you means they’re likely doubting or wanting support. (Also a side note but in the future maybe put a trigger warning on any posts like these) I hope ur doing ok, hang in there! ❤️
