I read the book, it's good. Me not being a big fan of poetry, comes from childhood experiences.
I read a lot of crappy poems when I was a kid, and this had an effect on my preferences.

You say you're not a big fan of poetry? I think you should challenge yourself by reading the books in the reading list that I added yours to. Especially "The Seventeen Syllables".
