          The premise is that certain families hold special powers which help them maintain their status. Miyo is the oldest daughter of the Saimori, one of the families which is on the decline. Even though her mother was from a very-highly regarded clan of people with powers, she herself doesn't have any, which means that she has spent her entire life being horribly bullied by her stepmother and half-sister. Her family sends her off as a bride candidate for the young master of the most powerful family, who is notorious for, you guessed it, turning down all candidates. They're convinced that she's going to be sent away in shame, but Kyoka (and his adorable middle-aged servant) actually take to her, which is where the "happy marriage" part comes in.
          
          Miyo's sense of self-worth is pretty much in tatters at the start of the story, so it's mostly about her regaining confidence and finding love. And obviously, Kyoka has his own issues of trust/dealing with women, so the story is basically about two awkward people learning to slowly connect
