I've always loved serial fiction -- something about getting a story, bit by bit, and usually with a cliffhanger ending. I'm a full-time nonfiction writer. That helps pay the bills. But it doesn't help me to get these crazy story ideas out of my head. With Wattpad, I've now got a way to tell my stories a little bit at a time. If people like them, I keep going. If people don't like a story, I can drop it and try something else. You can't do that in the "traditional" publishing world!

I'm thick-skinned. Criticism doesn't bother me; just ask my editors of my nonfiction books. I enjoy fine-tuning my writing, so don't be surprised if I go back and edit the story based on reader feedback. Don't like a particular scene? Tell me! Have a question? Ask me! But be prepared for some surprises... and be patient, too. Stories shouldn't give everything away in Chapter 1, right?

I've got something special planned for my first Wattpad submissions:

1. A science fiction story that blends some cutting edge science with a solid dose of action hero. Two heroes, actually! Don't worry... it will all make sense by book's end. And here's the cool part -- this first story is just Part 1 of a 3-part trilogy. If you like this first story, you'll be happy to hear I've got the two follow-up stories plotted out and know where it's all going.

2. An action story involving -- PAINTBALL! I used to play on a special team, and I still love to play a good game. I've got most of a the story written and am editing now, but I'm anxious to hear from readers and see if they like the story.

Depending on feedback, I may choose to focus on one story and finish it up before the other. If both stories are popular, I'll have to figure out how to do it, but I might be able to focus on both. I'm hoping to post a chapter or two every few days, so hang in there and let me know if you're enjoying how either story is progressing!
