My name is Janyell Griffin, I was originally born in California but moved to Tennessee shortly after my brother died. Life has never been easy for me, but I have always had a passion for literary arts and the escape it provides you.
At the age of fourteen I knew I had a special way with words. It originally began with music, I would sit in my room for hours and escape my reality through writing songs. However, at the age of sixteen I suffered from what most would call writer's block, and it could not have happened at a time worse than it was. Growing up I never really had the support I needed from my parents they were both abusive in their own ways. It just so happened that they were getting a divorce, and I had never seen my mother in so much pain. My writing then shifted, I went from writing songs to poetry. At the age of nineteen I suffered from a larger writer's block than before, this time I believe it was due to my visit to the mental hospital. That is when I discovered that I also have a talent for writing plays and novels. I always felt that I had suffered everything for a reason, and now I have found my purpose. I hope my writing makes a difference in the lives of many.
