why did people start adding tropes to books? it makes them so predictable, and completely lacking the element of surprise. life before tropes and labels used to make books so thrilling to read. and now, you read the tropes and you know how the book goes, because so many other books have the exact same tropes or storyline based on tropes. what happened to people writing only when they had something beautiful to share, a story that needed to be told? people today are just writing for the sake of including tropes in their books, for booktok, comments, views and likes. i believe in writing from the heart, when you have a story worth telling, one that does not lack originality. please bring back old books without tropes.
