jawbreakers

i've been on wattpad since 2020 and it's definitely interesting to see how drastically the fanfiction culture has changed. i feel as if its now far more reliant on aesthetics rather than actual like, storytelling. don't get me wrong i love good graphics in a fic but in some places on this app it's become repetitive. not just visual aesthetics, but for the most part (extremely) overused pinterest tropes and themes and QUOTES. i wish there was less tunnel vision nowadays with style over substance. this is perhaps a controversial take but it's not to say that everyone is going with the same content, or that fics with visuals lack good writing. i am also lowk guilty of this but still i think we need more originality in the big 25! hopefully this makes sense lolll
