Freedom.
Freedom is on my mind.
Freedom from the torturous memory my mind bares.
Freedom from the uncleanliness.
Freedom from that disgusting feeling of violation.
I want my life back.
I want my smile back.
Not the smile I put on so my family doesn’t worry.
Not the smile I put on in front of the detectives so they think I’m fine.
I want the part of me he took so easily.
I want that part back just as quickly as it took for his hand to slide under me.
I want back the pride I lost when no one spoke up.
I want back the sound of laughter they gave when they witnessed him doing that to me.
I want back what’s now long gone from me.
i don't know if you will read this, but you are an amazing poet. the poems that you write inspire me to do better with my poetry. keep up the good work. love you ❤
