I am Dr. Jeff Brierton. In 2012, I retired after 37 years in public education. I spent 19 years as a teacher, 18 years in high school leadership with 10 years as a high school Principal of 2 high schools in northern Illinois.
I hold a BA and MA in Political Science, a Ph.D. in US History, and MA and EdS degrees in Educational Administration/Leadership.
I am currently an adjunct professor of educational leadership at Concordia University Chicago and an adjunct professor of History at National Louis University. I am also a 10 year veteran of the US Army Reserve and served 6 of those years as Drill Sergeant.
I am married to my best friend Mary Beth, a 2nd-grade teacher. We have 4 kids, an attorney, a nurse, an engineer and a college junior. I write because it gives me great joy and because as Kipling said, "I am, by calling, a dealer in words; and words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind." I welcome your comments and I hope you enjoy my humble submissions.
