Hey, there.

Since you're kind enough to follow me, I'm including an entire short story for you in this message. This is a Halloween story and a bit on the dark side, though you might chuckle, too. Most of my stuff is sci-fi/fantasy humor.

Please check out others at my profile and of course I'd love to hear your comments on this story! - Jay

Blending In - A Halloween Tale

The Wilson's had settled in to watch a movie, assuming that they'd seen the last of this year's trick-or-treaters, when the door bell rang once again.

Judy jumped up and grabbed the bag of goodies. "Some lucky kids are going to get a boat load of Snickers," she shouted to her husband over her shoulder.

Opening the door, she found a lone little boy, head down, squirming in place. He was dressed in an obviously hand-me-down Dracula costume - tattered, patched and dusty. She instinctively stepped forward to comfort him. A quick glance around left her even more worried.

"Honey, what are you doing out here alone? Where's your mommy?"

"In the grave these 500 years," he said in a husky voice that froze Judy's blood. "And I think ye'll be joinin' her."

And he lept for her throat.
