I don't understand the reason behind these 'about me's. It's not like you'll memorize what my favortite color is, or figure out who I am by just reading it. 
Personally, I'd just skip over these mini biographies, and get to reading the stories that an author posts, so you'd learn more about the person that way. 
You can tell how creative they are, how humorous, or how ingenious this person is by reading their stories than by reading an 'about me'. 
A person will pour more of themselves into their creation than into an explanation. 
So, in short, stop reading this useless 'about me' section where I blab about nonsense, and get to reading fantastic stories out there, because for sure, you'll find one that suits you, and that means you've finally found a friend.
