I  was never raised with book lovers. I found a love for reading and writing at a young age. When I was young I would hide in the cupboard at the top of the stairs where it was warm and cosy with all my books. That was my safe place. That was my place for reading and escaping my world into another. 

I started writing Amelia on a whim, I loved the kind of narrative and story line. I had so many of my own stories and fantasies. I wanted to create my own characters to love and manipulate. I never expected anyone else to take interest in what I write. I write stories for myself and my own mind. If others enjoy them then, even better! It makes me happy knowing others enjoy the characters that I created. 

The very first book I remember reading independently and still cherish to this day is the worst witch collection by Jill Murphy.
