"i missed you."
it felt almost unreal to him; the way those three simple worlds glided down his tongue, dancing gracefully through the air before diminishing into nothing but acknowledged emotions.
there was a slight lilt in his tone, a slight quiver of his lips as he uttered those words quietly — meekly even. he felt small, undoubtedly so, at having to pry a bit of himself like that and shove it into the other's face, nothing but another torn piece of his already broken heart left hanging in the wind.
and there was something so beautifully heartwrenching about the sadness in his eyes that accompanied his words; the glistening of his pupils that only gleamed beneath the harsh glare of desparation and longing.
"why are you here?" so hesitant, so uncertain, was that question, yet there were hints of anger sparking between every syllable, lit aflame by his presence alone.
he could feel it then — the pain rising in his chest, clutching at his heart and blurring his vision.
"i-i missed you—" he cut himself off with a pitiful sob, that numbing pain building up in his throat and disabling him to speak. "am i not allowed to?"
he shook his head.
"if i don't, then neither should you."
