i can’t be the only one who thinks like this but it gives me a literal ick when a fanfic writer casually drops a slur, for example— the r slur, in a fic with no context as to how harmful it is and instead, uses it as a passing joke in the dialogue. it’s just so…icky and uncomfortable.
