"Hi, little one," a voice said behind her.
She spun around. An old woman who lived in the unit next door was standing in the doorway, watching her.
"Hi," she said, her voice small and breathless. "Where is—"
The woman didn't let her finish. She offered a small, sad smile that didn't reach her eyes, stepping forward to close the distance between them. "We need to talk," she said softly.

"Please," Lara sobbed, dropping to her knees on the edge of the rug, her fingers clutching at the hem of her sweatshirt. "Please, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. It was a mistake, I just wanted to get away, I didn't mean for it to happen like this. I love you, please don't do this, please just listen—"

"I... I can't," Lara breathed, her voice cracking.
"You can," Manon countered, her tone final, the voice she used when she wanted something. "If you want me to stay on this phone, you’re going to tell me. Are you thinking about me?"

we slept together, showered skin to skin, created soul ties, said i love you, kissed with morning breath, did the knee thing, talked about our past, present, future, our dreams, cried in each others arms, so no i can not thug this one out. and yes this song i wrote is about you

I hope you're enjoying Play Pretend. I know it's a different story from what I've done before, and much messier, but I always try to change and improve my work.
This story doesn't have as many comments as the others, making it harder to see feedback, but I sincerely hope you're having as much fun reading it as I am writing it.

Sometimes I see people reading one of my stories in one sitting for hours on end, and it makes me giggle
