Hey JJ!! I’ve been playing around with a new ACOTAR OC idea and I NEED your opinion because I think I might actually be onto something
I’m thinking of doing an Azriel x OC x Eris story, but the OC would basically have a Bonnie Bennett-style magic system in the ACOTAR world. She’d be related to Amarantha somehow, possibly her cousin, and she’d be an insanely powerful witch — like genuinely powerful in her own right, not someone who needs the guys to constantly save her.
She’d have normal witchcraft like telekinesis, pain spells, protection/boundary spells, locator spells, healing, spell-breaking, channeling, etc., but she’d also have dark magic, Expression, and psychic abilities.
The dark magic would come with a cost because it actually takes something out of her physically/life-force wise if she pushes it too far, whereas Expression would be that really dangerous, almost unrestricted raw magic where she doesn’t necessarily need spells or rituals. And then her psychic side would be more like Bonnie later on — sensing souls, psychic impressions, spirits, potentially creating her own psychic dimension, all of that.
I also really don’t want her watered down the way Bonnie sometimes was in TVD Our girl would have been through A LOT, but she’d know how powerful she is and actually be able to use it. She can be morally grey too and absolutely uses dark magic when she thinks the price is worth it.
I’m still figuring out her full backstory and exactly how she connects to Amarantha, but I’m kind of obsessed with the idea of dropping a Bonnie-type witch into ACOTAR and then throwing Azriel AND Eris at her
What do you think?? Would you read something like that?

@StellaBloom_09_ OHHHH Amita Suman 😭👀 YESSSS, I see the vision!! She could absolutely pull off that gorgeous, almost soft energy one second and then look genuinely terrifying the next. 🖤 I also think Simone Ashley could EATTT as a face claim 👀 She has that beautiful, regal presence but can absolutely give that intense “you should probably be afraid of me” look when she wants to. 😭 Between Amita Suman and Simone Ashley, though?? GIRL that’s HARD. Both could give powerful witch energy without making her look like she needs anyone to save her. 🖤✨

@jj_maybanks_ Okayyy now important question 😭 who do you think should be her face claim?? I want someone who can pull off that beautiful but genuinely powerful/dangerous witch vibe — like she can look soft one second and absolutely terrifying the next. I was thinking maybe someone like Amita Suman, but I’m sooo open to ideas because I feel like the face claim is going to help me figure out her whole personality too 👀

@StellaBloom_09_ GIRLLLL I am SO invested now. And YESSSS, keep her powerful!! I love that she’s not going to be another character who gets nerfed every chapter. Let the High Lords actually respect her because she’s earned it. Honestly, I still really like the Amarantha cousin idea because it gives you SO much drama. Everyone would immediately judge her because of her family, and she’d have to prove she’s not just a reflection of Amarantha. Maybe Amarantha feared her power, wanted to use it, or even tried to control her. BUT an ancient witch bloodline would also be really interesting because then even Rhys wouldn’t fully understand what she’s capable of. Imagine him being like, “I’ve known every type of power in Prythian… so why don’t I know what hers is?” Either way, the backstory is the key. The magic is already amazing—the reason behind it is what’s going to make everyone obsessed.
