"Just keep taking one step forward, I'll take ninety nine steps to get to you."

          	Mina smiled. "Why not a hundred, she said, that way you'll stand beside me."

          	There was silence, then she heard him sigh. "I prefer to be a step behind you. That way I'd be able to catch you if you fall."

          	She spun on her heel, aiming to finally see his face, but his arm caught her shoulder, stopping her mid-turn. "No," he replied. "Standing beside you would be a dream. However, that means we'd be staring at the same scene. What if someone creeps from behind?"

          	A pregnant pause came after his sentence. Neither she nor he made a sound. The clouds started to move west. Their dark color intensifying, rain was coming, gloom was approaching. But for them, this was the start of something bright, warm and a future that not one of them could have ever predicted.

Hi I just finished reading your story Janine and I really enjoyed it. The scene that stuck with me was when Romeo first crawled out of the motherboard Janine’s mix of exhaustion, sarcasm and total lack of fear made it both terrifying and hilarious at the same time. Did you always plan for her reaction to lean more toward comedy than horror or did that come out naturally as you wrote it?

joviekincaid2

@jo_fab Haha that makes so much sense now it really did capture that chaotic “what in the wattpad” energy perfectly! Honestly I’m curious about your journey as a writer how did you get into psychological horror in the first place?
            Also if you’re comfortable do you hang out on any other social platforms? Would love to chat more about your process there too

@joviekincaid2 Hi, thank you for reading. Writing Janine was a challenege. I'm a psychological horror writer and when I saw the wattpad challenge, (What In The Wattpad) I decided to try my hand in writing something chaotic and crazy. Yes, I wrote this to lean towards comedic horror. I wanted her to be as chaotic as possible to give that (what in the wattpad) feel. I'm glad it worked.

@Marialenaliva Sure. Please read The Love Letters of Cell 247 or the One-shot, The Last Goodbye. If you like teen stories, give Your Echo in Silence a read. If you're into psychological thriller, Rage of Whispers. If you want Horror, Berceuse for the Suffering.

@jo_fab Hello lovely reader, ❤️

            I find extreme joy in bringing to you my new story "Shroud of our past."

            Seven bodies. One town. A trail of shattered lives and unburied guilt. The past is coming back. And it's not coming alone.

            Welcome to Brookstone Wells.

            Brookstone Wells has a habit of forgetting what it can't face. But old wounds don't stay closed forever.

            The town where the secrets are whispered through the wind and the clues are found scattered inside the dead bodies. The blood is the ink and the stories being written are worse than your nightmares.

            Officer Noah Cooper, a man whose life has been defined by silence, solitude, and chasing shadows that always slip away.

            Emma Sinclair lives for the thrill of the chase. She's fearless, sharp, and haunted by the past she swore she left behind.

            Can they solve the case or will they become another thread of the shroud?
