Thank you very much for your comments.  I have a problem in that very shortly I have to move house, I'm sure you can imagine what that entails, this has to be a rather quick move but moving and sorting through my late mother's effects - all  94 years worth,  as she was born and died in the same house, is going to b a bit of a job.  Therefore, getting Duke finished at a relevant point seemed opportune.  Fortunately once I am settled in the new house I can start the story of The Disreputable Banker  - while also editing Duke, during which all these problems will be answered.  Thank you again for your constructive comments during the past few weeks, they have been most helpful.
