My name is John L. Rice, and I am a Pastor of Youth Ministries at New Life Community Church in San Diego, CA. I am also the author of:

I am a native of San Diego and I have received a Bachelor's of Arts in Biblical Studies from Southern California Seminary.
I have a mental illness and I have seizures. I use to have epilepsy but with medical assistance it has subsided. But I still have seizures. These are caused by psychological issues (of the mind) and not neurological (of the body). I have what is called PNES (Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures.)
The world treats mental illnesses with a stigma (to "set aside"), and I share in my book how a painter from the late 1800's fought such dishonor, even as a strong believer in Christ. The cover of my book is van Gogh's most well known painting, "The Starry Night."
I have found healing beyond measure in the last year based off of some principles I place in the last section. If you have a mental illness, like myself, than these methods will be beneficial. But the ways I treated my mind and the body can go along way for the reader who wants to do the same.
Such simple methods as listening to what our doctor tells us, biblical counseling, meditation, fasting and prayer, and even forgiveness.
