My goal for this year is to provide some closure. I don't know if I'll finish THE MANAGER but at the very least I want to do a retrospective to fill in the gaps, why some ideas are weird, and where I wanted the story to end up.
I still have hope for THE IDOL. At the very least, I want to write a stylized treatment (around 60-100 pages) to finish the story. I feel very connected to this story, especially, and I'd hate for one of my only slow burns to remain abandoned.
I know you guys haven't heard from me consistently in some time; in that time my writing style has changed a lot. I've let go of most of the parasocial relationships in my life, too. I find it harder to write for this account because, especially with a story like THE IDOL, Mina has turned into a character really quite unlike her IRL self (and I can't in good faith change the writing for the sake of arbitrary continuity).
I've also turned away from long form fanfiction. The only long form stuff I find easy to write now is original ideas, and I think it's about time I complete another book or two and maybe start publishing. Even if it's not in the cards for me to make writing my career, I at least want to make it a side hustle.
So, I can't give you a date as to when I'll have things ready. But I'm cooking. This'll be a GRRM situation where everything will be ready when it's ready. If I hit a point where I don't plan on returning to this account, I'll tell y'all. I appreciate everyone still around who supported me from the beginning, and I'm so happy to see new people finding these stories. They're pretty messy and not the most consistent, but they were a blast to write and there are definitely hidden gems scattered about. Thank you guys!
