Visitor activity on Wattpad appears to be picking up, gradually (unless it is my imagination). I have you, the readers, to thank for that. Votes and reviews raise the work's rank in searches. Infinitesimally, true, but every bit helps. So thank you.

For those of you who are interested in the progress of the third volume: I keep a running status report on my user profile at Quotev. That place has a superior reader experience (no ads) and a better message board. My profile URL:

melisodesamos thank you. As to my writing style, one liberating factor is the absence of space constraints. More breadth and space within which to work, when there is no chance that a word of it will ever go to print.

Unfortunately I do not have social media accounts or private email accounts. I've considered measures along those lines, but social media activity would distract from my primary task, which is the writing. I check in regularly here and at my quotev.com profile. I'm happy to answer questions and engage readers at either place. As to the possibility of spoiling other readers, I really don't think it's a factor. Readers who don't want to be spoiled are generally wise to stay out of the discussions.

@jordanIda2 Hi! I've devoured both "Our Infinite Sadness" and "Descending Star" in less than a week. Congratulations, they are awesome books. It is a pity that you had to do piggyback on Twilight for the books to work but I must say that SM can't dream of having your style and deepness. I am eager to read the third and I hope you the best. You are an amazing writer and I'll read anything you publish, your style is simply magnificent.

P.D. I have many questions obut the next volumes and I don't want to spoil anything to future readers and I was wondering if you had a mail or something like that where I can contact you for doubts. Im sorry to bother you but I can't help myself :). I hope you are doing great and I'm looking forward to read more!

I just saw you posted the third book, thank you! I'm really excited to read it, but I think I'll reread the first two so it's all fresh in my mind. This series is so good, I look forward to the rest of it and anything else you might want to write. Thank you, and I hope you're doing well!

Hobo-Ef

Really love the series, can’t wait for the next one. No rush or anything but when are you thinking you’ll release the third book?

          Keep up the good work!

jordanIda2

@Hobo-Ef I've been pushing the third book out due to technical issues. The final draft is about a hundred pages from completion. I'm estimating late November. For a running account, you see the odometer I'm running on my Quotev profile page ( www dot quotev dot com slash jordanIda). I'm somewhat more active there, and the book will likely be posted there first, because the format here is awful.

            Cheers,
            Jordan

Hi Jordan! I’m a huge fan of your works that I’ve read so far. I truly got lost in your stories and had trouble putting them down or keeping them out of my head! I’m really excited for the third book of the installment, and hopefully more. Do you happen to have a method that fans can donate to you? I feel like I got more enjoyment out of your books than the cost of my Wattpad subscription so I wanted to give back!

jordanIda2

@prisinger No worries about the pestering. I wish more readers did so. Your questions are incisive, and I am hopeful they will encourage other readers to poke their faces out of their shells. As to Bastet, Sekhmet: the forty thousand year backstory is being administered in measured doses. Past and present must converge, over the course of four expeditions (Bactra, Srinagar, Ashur and Tanzania.) All of this takes time. That is why a five volume series is planned, to bring it all together.

Sorry, last message and I’ll stop pestering you: I stopped thinking of it in terms of a fanfic about 1000 words into Descending Star. The digressions away from canon have been, far and away, my favorite parts. Especially (and I know it’s dumb to say especially, since it’s the locus of the story) the mythos and origins of vampirism. The epic poem blew me away. Without spoiling, will the mechanism of how Bastet and their siblings came to be the way they were ever be explained? I get explaining the how would’ve taken a lot of the awe out of the poem and I may have missed it elsewhere in the book, just curious!

@prisinger This deep into the project, I sometimes rue the decision early on to use the Twilight Saga as a springboard. My Edythe Cullen does bear some cursory resemblance to S.M.'s Edward, but what is to be said of the original characters, like Miss Zoey Eustace and Colleen, who arguably steal the show? These novels did not have to be fan fiction, and with each volume they depart further from canon. But I chose to piggyback on Twilight, and on some days I regret it. Then I suppress the mild resentment by telling myself that few would have have found the books, and even fewer would have taken the time to read them, had it not been for the springboard.

Thanks for sharing them. Reader word-of-mouth is the only way they are finding an audience.

Man I just discovered your books off Reddit and my god, these books are some of the best I have ever read. Do you by any chance publish any other books or have a patreon or something similar because I feel like I need to pay for this level of work, and you certainly deserve it.

MustafaAli5

I have already begun recommending this series to anyone who will listen through a couple different social media apps, because I truly believe that this series of has been one of the best books I have ever read in my life. Thank you for letting me know about the potential release date for the next book I’ll mark it on my calendar.

I hope more people discover your books and good luck with the next installment.

@MustafaAli5 Thank you very much for your interest and for taking the time to write. This project is strictly a solitary hobby. I have heard that a Reddit fan site exists. I have never been there. Due to professional constraints, I am not on social media of any kind. For exposure, I rely entirely on word of mouth from my readers, and it shows. The books have thus far failed to catch fire and are not very popular. But I don't really care about that. The books are technically fan fiction (though they stretch the definition), so I am not doing this for money or fame.

The third book (working title Primal Dream) is now at 420,000 words, rough draft. I expect the rough draft to be complete in two or three weeks. Release should be around mid-July, if life cooperates.

Thanks again for your interest, and please share the books.

Hey! Just finished reading the second book of the series and it's even better than the first (wich was GREAT). If you don't mind me asking, when is the thrid book comming out? Hope you're doing well and thanks for the amazing work

jordanIda2

@axmmends : Thank you for reaching out.

As to my general methodology: I do not post works until they are complete, since they go thgough several rounds of heavy revision for pace and continuity.
(In the past two books, I have cut approx. 360,000 words of rough draft.) These are long books, and the project is only a hobby, so it takes me about a year to produce a volume, with complete rough draft in Feb-March and release in June.

That said I am now late on the third. I have suffered a medical setback and haave done no work on it in three weeks. I am on the mend and hope to get back into the project soon.

I keep a progress report on the third book at my user profile at quotev, where I am more active than I am here. (I just don't get this place at all, sorry.) My url at quotev:

I love this series I was sad waiting for the last one because before you got it out I went to boot but once I had access I binged it, also found this series on Fanfiction

jordanIda2

Thanks for your tenacity and thanks for reading. FYI, I am no longer at A03 or FF. Too many technical issues on the author/services side at those places. Now I am only here and at quotev, where I recently joined. Love that place. Will most likely be active there. Link: quotev dot com slash jordanIda

Tnanks again LaughingCoffin and happy holidays.

Working on it. Final draft about eighty percent complete. Looking like May or June. I've been meaning to post a public comment here with the status. Maybe I'll do that. :)
