          	despite that, he doesn't sound disappointed like y/n feared. but there's another tug at his heartstrings when he considers that might be the case because jinpachi didn't expect much from him in the beginning . and even if he did, it's only about y/n being, well, a disappointment.
          	there's no use in bemoaning how he could've pleased someone more. but it's such a shame how he could've.

          “hmm!” his grandfather hums, a hand suddenly grabbing his chin. his eyes sparkle when he responds, “i don't think i can remember how you like your tea, y/n. how ‘bout you come home and i’ll brew everything until i remember which one you liked most!” 
          “i don't recall ever being picky regarding the tea i drink, though.”
          “er, well, maybe you don't. but perhaps your friends do! those mikage and nagi ones.”
          “mikage-san—” y/n imagines reo in a custom-tailored suit. he's in a banquet’s dining hall, drinking an unidentifiable tea from a vintage china teacup as he laughs along with his fellow custom suit people. y/n’s a little jealous of those imaginary beings. “there's a possibility he’d enjoy anything.”
          “as for nagi-san…,” he trails off. he thinks of seishirou chugging down a glass of water after waking up only to head back to bed again. “maybe he wouldn't mind anything as well.”

tbh i don't think kaneshiro will let him go just like that. he's probably gonna have a redemption arc in like the future timeskips or something. this sounds delusional but i genuinely don't believe that's gonna be the last time he's shown in the manga. we literally got a spinoff dedicated to his dumbass
