I write random things all the time. Some I post some I do not. What has inspired me to write stories and poems as such is thanks to the poems and short stories of Edgar Allen Poe. The other author that has inspired me to write is Stephen King. Stephen King once said, "Every book you pick up has its own lesson or lessons, and quite often the bad books have more to teach than the good ones." When I first read that quote I understood what he meant completely. When a story ends happily every time it is nothing but lies. The real world isn't like a happy ending book. The real world is full of hardship and struggles waiting for you. When you read a dark book and think something like that would never come true or its just a story, you are right on some aspects. Most stories won't come true but they are based off of true events, events some authors had to live through. The dark stories you read are telling you about the real world. This is why I enjoy writing like this. Edgar Allen Poe had a hard life. When he was young, his father left the family and a year later his mother died. Edgar Allen Poe lived with his adoptive parents well into his young adulthood until he enlisted in the army. This is when his writing career started. Edgar Allen Poe wrote dark and crime filled drama due to his past. He wrote how he felt and whatever came to his mind. Stephen King was inspired by the death of his friends when they were struck by a train in his early years. He was raised by his mother who had financial strain at the time because his father left them when he was 2 years old. King wrote what came to his mind and became a very famous suspense and non fiction author. Nothing bad has truly happened to me but I find joy in writing these stories and poems and hope to continue throughout the many years of my life.
