Hey everyone ik I've been rather inactive however I wanted to address some of the stuff about the smut ban and some people swapping over to A03.
This is informative.
1. Smut is still allowed under specific circumstances. The new rules have specifically banned on page sexualzation of individuals under the age of 18. Stories containing smut must be of individuals 18 or older and must be marked mature by the writer in order to stay on the platform.
In addition topics like beasailty (human on animal or Pornography of animals), and stories created to arouse are now prohibited.
2. I am in full support of these new regulations. It is fair that they control who has access to what specific media when a cite like wattpad has such a younger primary user base and not allowing topics that are objectively deviant is not a bad thing. Regardless of world view, CP, animal abuse and exposing children to pornography are not good things. And if you come to view them as fine or good I encourage you to take a step back.
3. Am I leaving Wattpad? No, at this current time I see no reason to. I have a large supporter base on wattpad and everyone here has been so unbelievably kind and amazing. I also genuinely prefer the interface of wattpad to AO3. AO3 and genuinely pretty unusable and is very, very hard to find anything enjoyable on there.
4. Are my stories safe? Yes. Although my stories often contain adult themes. I do not write anything directly explicit on the page especially between minors.
