I didn’t watch the entire thing, but it was good. Bayern is a good team, dominant in Germany but I knew they’d lose. I thought Harder would be a problem given her history but she was shut down the entire match. Barça held strong and Alexia had a wonderful goal. I thought she missed the shot at first but it curled into the upper corner of the goal. I just thought that Bayern were really slow and were making sloppy mistakes, giving the ball away to give Alexia a goal, and they were terrible on defense. They went down a lot of goals and they gave up after the first one. I also think that this was Bayern’s lesson. I don’t know if they made fun of Wolfsburg for losing to Barcelona last year. It was bad for Wolfsburg and while they might be dominant, I thought that the challenge against Barcelona was to prove where they were at in terms of football. Bayerns a good team, but against Barcelona they looked like they didn’t know how to play football. Yes Barcelona has a stacked squad, it’s crazy, but Bayern had good players too, and they were all absent. It’s insane to go 7-1 down in the first leg where Wolfsburg went down 4-1. So I’m not sure if it makes Bayern look any better than Wolfsburg were. I love my girl Georgia Stanway, but she was nonexistent. As was everyone and I want to say Barcelona were fantastic, but Bayern need to step up. I don’t support Bayern Munich but I can sympathize with them, though overall it was a poor performance from Bayern and a fantastic one from Barcelona to take advantage of that.
