I wanted to say something, not publicly to announce it or whatever, but I've seen so so many people disheartened in the past week, all because of that one story from the woman we all know.
Look, Ishan and Shubman, and Ishman specifically, it's impossible here in India. I learnt that. And it's pointless to make the picture with her a big deal.
I am a Larrie, and I've seen those phases, especially the ones where the management or PR has to hype the girl on occasions where you expect your couple to post something for each other. It's obvious. And I'm damn sure it'll continue.
Sadly, unfortunately, and in reality, we were born in India. Love isn't love. Gay isn't legal. And people are not just individuals. They are literally run by the society, especially in the game of cricket. Everywhere, in every household, there's at least someone who loves cricket. And they can't bring this on the team. The PR doesn't give a shit to whom the celebrity loves. All they are paid for is to keep their images "society friendly"
I tell you what. It's impossible because people here don't see this as legal. Because, yes, it isn't! And it can never be! Because laws are made for the society and by old people with old thinking.
Look, with all my respect, I love India and my country more than anything... But these small things just make me feel like... I wish my efforts meant something. They don't, and that's the reality.
And if Ishman is really real (which it ofc is) then, I hope they find a better ending than what I can see from here.
Thanks a lot
