I think you should show at least what her life is like when she haven't got the make over. Like if she's being an outcast, being bullied, a nerd or whatsoever. So it would show a conflict in the story why she wants to change. Then you could also show the problems when she got a make over like having fake friends who just wants her because she's beautiful.
I think the first name is okay but the last name is kind of hard to say. Try a surname that contains only 2 syllables.
