A story that I had hoped to release almost a year ago took an entire year to finalize. Finally, I can lay this thing to rest! https://www.wattpad.com/story/205870973

So, I finally managed to get "For my little brother" completed, after over a year since I first started writing it.

          Kind of.

I've noticed that my style of writing has changed slightly over that period of time; I'm now reading my work out loud before publishing it, which is good, and I've become a bit picky on punctuation, which kinda irks me a bit. Once I go through the entire story and finish making tweaks to it, I'll publish all of the remaining parts and lay this monster to rest.

Feedback, on any of my stories, is always greatly appreciated!

Figured I'd post something here, just in case anybody was wondering about my recent silence here.

Yes, I'm still writing, so existing stories will be updated and new ones are on the way. I am juggling my first year in university, though, so I'll have less time to myself to write than I would like. I still go on Wattpad regularly to check on things, so it's not like I've left or forgotten about this place. One quirk that I do have is my apparent inability to set deadlines for personal goals, and stories I write is one of them. I set out to write things that aren't for school and I never complete them in a timely manner that people often expect from authors. I only write whenever I feel like writing, and so my work seems to drag on forever. I know some people may say that I've abandoned it, but usually I haven't. If you find that the next part of my story(ies) are taking forever to come to fruition, don't panic -- it's just me being me.

As always, any constructive feedback you can give me is greatly appreciated.

Hello again!

About a month ago, I mentioned something about the "spiritual successor" to "As he lay dying...". Well, here it is -- sort of.
You see, this project turned out to be a tad bit bigger than I had previously anticipated, so I'm going to release it in parts, bit by bit. Unfortunately, I can't give any figures as to how long it may be; according to a word counting website, what I have written so far totals over 38K words, and I'm a long way off from being done!

Anyway, I've been working on this story since early February of this year, and I'm finally going to reveal the very first part of it. It's called "For my little brother", and despite the 'cute-sounding name', it actually contains some gruesome and unsettling content. It's about an impoverished boy who runs from home and falls into a life of crime, looking for money to support his younger brother's education. His family has always been poor, having to scavenge through a landfill every day looking for scraps that can be resold, and often having to eat leftover food salvaged from garbage. Despite his intentions, he doesn't realize the extent of his actions until he earns himself a trip to prison, where he sees the pain and grief he had caused for his family, the way his departed father and older brother had also done before him. But this is just the beginning of a journey for him - a journey that will teach him the values of family, friendship, and love.

It's a monstrous project, but I hope you enjoy the whole story once I've completed every bit of it! Feel free to ask me any questions or leave me any comments you may have.

Hey everyone! Thanks to those who liked "As he lay dying...". Brotherhood has always fascinated, inspired, and touched me, so I'm definitely going to be writing more about it.

Check out this new short story that I wrote - "Half-brother". It's about a boy who loses his father to cancer; his mother remarries and gives birth to another son, who is the main character's half-brother. At first, everything's dandy; the two treat each other like full brothers. However, after his stepfather suffers a serious accident that permanently changes his personality for the worse, the truth is revealed to his half-brother. With his stepfather acting up and him wanting to run from it all, can the two still call each other brothers? Or is the only difference between them "four letters and a hyphen"? Read it now -- https://www.wattpad.com/story/67010389

For those who still liked "As he lay dying..." better, note that there WILL NOT be a sequel; I deliberately intended for it to be that way (However, if you'd like to write a fanfic and make an unofficial sequel, per the CC-BY-SA-NC license, FEEL FREE TO DO SO! I'd love to see it!). I am, however, writing a "spiritual successor" to "As he lay dying...", in that it is also based on brotherhood and poverty, and in fact even takes place in the same country and city (If you can figure those out). Anyways, it's a monstrous project and probably won't be available for some time, but I'm not writing it in total secrecy! I'll probably post the link to what I have so far later.

Well, that's a lot. Signing off for now.
