A book ick of mine is when the book is too focused on s*x like why is there a sex scene every chapter?

Essieewrites

@kaebxby Same here. But trust me, don’t feel pressured to do it and believe in yourself bc you’ll just end up ruining ur book just to please others. Write a book you’d want and love to read, not just what you think others will.
Here what I do: first I come up with a plot that’ll catch readers’ interest, then I add a sexual description just to grab their attention. But in the actual story, I build up a lot of sexual tension just to keep readers hooked, and only write about 2-4 sex scenes in total.

@Essieewrites the last part is literally me. I feel as if I don’t add a sexual description people won’t get interested

Omg fr. It’s sad and frustrating cause some people don’t read certain books just bc there isn’t enough smut or none at all. Sex scenes aren’t bad, they show how the emotional bond between the main characters grows deeper, but when it’s all the book is about, it gets tiring. The worst part is that, some authors start doubting themselves or feel pressured to add as many sex scenes as possible just to get readers interested.

Question for my readers.

Are my chapter too short? I try to write at least 700+ words to 1300 but I feel like recently they have seemed really short. Should I write more?

siaxwrites

@kaebxby NO STOP LMFAO. U CAN ALWAYS TAKE IT SLOW. I usually have like a few time skips in the chapter too.

@kaebxby i don’t read ur books but maybe try and keep chapters around 2000+ words. Even 1500 words are great too. But if you want much longer chapters you should go 2000+
