the weather is awfully nice today, don't you think? ^_^

my dearest, @kafkajoke, “it’s so.. refreshing. like a breath of fresh air(๑˘︶˘๑).. you know, we should go out together more now that the weather isn’t too bad. i wouldn’t mind being out and about more often.” a warm smile comes across orochi’s face as she leans back onto her palms, looking out into the ocean, then back at yuèhuā. loose strands of orochi’s hair fly in the wind, the rest put in a loose braid with flowers put in earlier this morning, courtesy of yuèhuā. in her lap sits a sketchbook, open to a page filled with various images from their day: orochi junior and a croissant from orochi’s morning, the morning sunrise, and a small portrait of yuèhuā to name a few. by her side sits a half-eaten sandwich on a plate which she took ocassional bites out of in between conversation and drawing. “stars? i think they're cool! ^_^ when i lived in okinawa i used to stargaze with my mom sometimes, but then we moved to tokyo and it became harder to do so.. but i'd love to go stargazing with you tonight, yuè. maybe we'll even get to see a shooting star as well(„• ᴗ •„)” with love, orochi

@yamata-no-orochi:⠀oh, definitely! ^_^ the breeze, the scent of the ocean.. and food, hehe ^_^ [a grin forms at his mouth, taking a bite into the fresh strawberries yuèhuā had recently purchased from the small village’s local market. its juices dripped onto his chin, which is wiped away by the back of his palm. the wicker basket that lies between the two was filled to the brim, from small sandwiches to fresh fruits and the egg custards stacked up on top of each other. with a free hand, yuèhuā smoothes out the picnic blanket beneath them of any creases. with the exception of the two, there were only a few other people that were on the beach. children and their families, their laughter filling in the background with splashes of water accompanying them.] do you like stars, orochi? one of the planets is going to be seen tonight.. and the moon is full. i think it’ll be beautiful at night ( ◠‿◠ ) we should go stargazing, if you’d like.

um, (...) thank you. for letting me in. away from the rain.

━━━━ i'm, uh, not here to (attempt to) kill you, by the way. was just passing through town, (a rather disheveled orochi lingers next to the chair across from yuè, orochi absentmindedly fiddling with the cuff of her sleeve. she speaks quietly, exhaustion evident in her voice— the lack of proper rest and sleep these recent weeks taking a toll on the ex-assassin.) i'm sorry for the disturbance. horribly sorry.

i'll kill you! slit your throat—! (the tip of a blade hovers over yuè's throat, orochi's grip on the handle tightening with each word. eyes glare into the florist's own icy blue orbs, practically burning a hole through his head— now if her glare didn't kill him, he'd certainly die by her blade, right? ..right?)

i had a feeling you'd mention uzuki, he's become q͟u͟i͟t͟e͟ the problem recently, hasn't he?

everyletterisent

my dearest, @kafkajoke, the yamakagashi scoffs at yuèhuā’s comment. ‘bold’ was certainly a word to describe what uzuki was doing. she ought not to be here, certainly not, not now definitely. it’s a risky move, for sure, coming to yuèhuā. one could say she’s temporarily abandoning her duties as a member of the order by being here, or even that she’s going soft, perhaps. confessing secrets and feelings to him that otherwise should’ve been kept bottled up when on the clock— things that were meant to be hidden behind the mask that the sobriquet of ‘the yamakagashi, serpent of the order’ bore. “he missed you, (he probably still does). he used to wish that you’d return back to the orphanage. you’re right, though, yuè, he’s well prepared.” her eyes meet yuèhuā’s as he slides the other cup to her side. her eyebrows are furrowed and a troubled expression is visible on her face. hesitantly, she picks up the cup and stares into the contents of it. in the teacup she finds a distorted reflection of herself staring right back at her, and it shakes her very core. the yamakagashi almost doesn’t recognize the eyes that look right back at her in the teacup— was this who she had become? a monster? a murderer? was this what her mother would’ve wanted? she takes a sip of the tea and her shoulders stiffen. “what i feel and what i’m willing to do on the job doesn’t matter. it never has. you should know that already. what matters is whether or not i get the job done. even if it means—” a pause. a look of what almost resembles fear enters her eyes. “even if it means killing them.” with love, orochi

@oserpent: he’s certainly gotten bold. [yuèhuā brings the brim of the tea cup to his mouth, turning his head to face the window which gives the view of the ocean. the waves form and crash against the shore. clouds shroud the bright beam of the sun, creating a gray atmosphere. he then glances in the yamakagashi’s direction, pushing the other cup towards her. a small peace offering, if you will.] kei knows what he’s done. he’ll be prepared. [the name on leaves a salty taste to yuèhuā’s mouth. he remembers the days of al–kamar — the other orphans, and kei.. emotionally, yuèhuā wanted to stay. yet someone had to leave first. and he bore that responsibility. he bore the guilt that continued to gnaw at him until this day. abandoning ‘family’ was the best and worst thing yuèhuā had done. twice, he had abandoned: al–kamar and the orphans, and the ‘weapon’ his creators shaped him to be. being a ‘weapon’ and the violence they had instilled into the child he once was. cerulean eyes flicker into the tea cup’s contents, observing at how the tea and the flower that swims in the middle move. yuèhuā meets the yamakagashi’s gaze, exhaling softly. have. business. he’s heard these reasons all before; the florist had even said it himself, once.] kei and i were close, though that was long ago. i haven’t had contact with him since i.. left the orphanage for the academy. i broke off all connection. i understand, though. it’s all business. but are you willing to kill the orphans you grew up with, orochi?

i understand you two were close, yuè━━━━ so i'd hope you forgive me in the event that i may kill him. but, surely you'd understand that this is just what i /have/ to do, you know it's just.. (orochi sighs.) business, nothing more, it's just what's necessary.
