So, I was looking up a quote from The Book Thief for a poem I'm working on and... wow. People really like to attack this story. Like yeah, I get the slice-of-life, episodic feel doesn't suit some people. But some, in their reviews, I just felt like were mad that they didn't like it. Everyone hypes them up for it and they just don't see the point. I understand that, I really do. Some people aant a more straight forward story.
But in their rants, making fun of the style of writing and the story itself, they missed the point. They just wanted to get it over with so they didn't bother to try and see the stunning theme of the importance of words.
You can still recognize that and not like that "it was a long book."
