So yeah, tomorrow marks the 74th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor bombings which kick started some of the worst six years the world has ever had.
On December the 7th, 1941, just before eight am, Japanese fighter planes attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. I can try and sugar coat it, and make it nice, but I can't. I can write about how war was so bad in my books, but I think that I will never, ever, know how truly horrific and painful WW2 was. In this attack, fighter jets managed to destroy nearly 20 American naval vessels, and more than 2,000 American soldiers and sailors died in the attack, and another 1,000 were injured.
Roosevelt described it as 'a date that will live in infamy'. And it is, it really is. I'm so thankful for the soldiers that fought in war, not only for their countries, but for the world. SO THANKFUL.
And yet today we are still pointing our guns at each other, bombing each other and hurting each other. Did they not die for nothing?
Today give someone a hug, love em like you're going to lose them and just be nice.
