Japan was amazing and beautiful, the cities are nice but the second you leave the limits your surrounded by the most beautiful mountains. The gardens and shrine are so amazing and peaceful and the parks have the most amazing setting with gorgeous trees and flowers and plants and I want to go back so bad.
I stayed in traditional hotels (ryokan I think it's called?) And went to an onsen (now THAT was fun) I spent the night in a traditional buddist temple on top of a mountain.... I also got lost in a huge ass city and had to walk back to my hotel at night... I only got back at 2:30 am.
All in all it was a grand adventure, and if you wanna go I would recommend going on a contiki tour, that's what I did and it was perfect speed for my age (I went when I was 18) so I think you would have a blast if you go.
